High Performance Computing Architecture and System Research Group

The High Performance Computing Architecture and System Research Group has openings for research assistantship.

We have opening for motivated graduate and undergraduate to work as research assistants in the following two areas:

• Parallelizing compiler and system for parallel and high performance computing using CPU, GPU and FPGA. Knowledge of C/C++ programming, data structures, compilers, computer architecture, and operating systems (especially. Linux) are required. Knowledge and experience with parallel programming (PThreads, OpenMP, CUDA, MPI, etc.) are preferred.
• Deep learning and federated learning for medical image processing. Knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, convolution neural network, Python programming, computer vision and image processing such as classification, object detection, image segmentation and registration are required. Familiar with existing DL framework such as Tensorflow and PyTorch are preferred.

Within the group, you will work with a motivated team to solve cutting-edge problems in parallel computing and HPC and ML/DL applications. You will have opportunity to gain academic exposure through peer-review publications, attendance and presentations in professional conferences worldwide, and internships in industry and government labs.
